We are open again
We are again keeping watch, but in a slightly different way, or the "new normal". We shall be following guidance from both the government and from national office of NCI

Support us while shopping on line

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations with easyfundraising?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
All you need to do is:
1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/felixstowenci/  and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Felixstowe NCI at no extra cost to you whatsoever!

There are no catches or hidden charges and we will be really grateful for your donations.

Next Talk
If you would like us to come and talk about Felixstowe NCI to your organisation please call Dick Daniels dick.daniels@nci.org.uk  .

With our website we aim to be the primary source of information about all things maritime in Felixstowe.

Contact us by telephone on 01394 670808 or via Channel 65 for a radio check, current sea state and weather conditions.

We currently open 09:00 to 18:00 every day in British Summer Time and 09:00 to 16:00 in the winter.

Felixstowe NCI is part of the National Coastwatch Institution and holds Declared Facility Status with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. We report to Dover Coastguard and are totally funded by donations. From our lookout post on top of Martello Tower P, which is manned exclusively by highly trained volunteers, our role is to ...

  • keep a visual watch over the sea and beaches and monitor Radio Channels 0, 16, 65, 67 and 71
  • report any incidents seen, or heard on our radios
  • co-operate with HM Coastguard and other services as appropriate.

From our lookout we keep watch over ...

  • the entrance to the river Deben (via CCTV).
  • the beach and inshore waters north of Cobbold's Point (via CCTV).
  • the beach and inshore waters south of Cobbold's Point.
  • the sea from the Woodbridge Haven buoy to the North, out to Rough Towers to the East and round to Walton on the Naze to the South.
